Prepping Your Heat Pump for Fall

Feb 2, 2022Uncategorized0 comments

all has finally ushered in cooler temperatures. The shorter days, brisk air, and visits with family and friends have us spending more and more time indoors. Don’t chance an outdated, faulty heater to feebly warm your house this fall. If you have a heat pump, now is the perfect time to have it serviced before the temperature hovers around freezing for good!

Heat pumps are designed to heat and cool spaces by moving warm air from one location to another. This means that during summer, warm air is moved from inside your house to the outdoors, keeping your home cool. During winter, warm air is extracted from the outdoors and drawn into your house. Since heat pumps use heat that is already present versus having to generate their own heat, they are one of the most efficient heating systems available and help cut utility bills.

Because heat pumps extract warm air from the environment to heat homes, there is often a concern that they are impractical for very cold climates. But modern heat pumps are designed to draw as much heat at possible from the ambient air, and are even capable of generating their own heat in times of truly frigid weather.

If you are ready to have your heat pump serviced for fall, or if you are ready to install a heat pump in your home, call extreme at one of our locations
